When Carole and Cheryl purchased the house, it was a fairly standard 3 bed/2 bath house. There was a metal shop in the back and they were able to tie that into the main house during their remodel.
After two years of work, they succeeded in creating their unique new house. 9 bed/9.5 bath, gathering room, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, sewing room and pantry. The hallways are all extra wide to accommodate wheelchairs and hospital beds. They also added an elevator to allow Brianne access to the upper floors of the house.
An additional 8 feet was added to the kitchen and dining room, making space for 3 sinks, 2 dishwashers, 2 refrigerators and 2 stoves. The dining room seats 15 and, like the kitchen, is wheelchair accessible.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were built with specific kids and their needs in mind. Joshua and Brianne's bathrooms are wheelchair accessible with roll-in showers. Brianne's room and bathroom was also fitted with a lift.
Many areas outside the house have been paved and made wheelchair accessible so that Brianne, Joshua and Gina can all have access
